Dr. SK Farid Ahmed received his MBBS degree from Mymensingh medical college in 1992 before pursuing higher studies in Surgery in the UK. He has been working for the past 26 years as an oncoplastic breast surgeon at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust, where he performs various onco-plastic procedures, including skin-sparing mastectomy, breast reconstruction, and breast conserving surgery. He has worked in several hospitals in the UK, including Edinburgh, Borders, Yorkshire, and Sunderland, where he gained experience in various surgical specialties. In 2000, he obtained his Surgical Fellowship (FRCS) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Dr. Ahmed is a core member of the breast multidisciplinary team at BHNHST and TOPS (Thames Valley Onco-plastic Surgery). He has published numerous research papers and presented at the EBCC conference. He is also a faculty member of breast surgery courses at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a co-investigator for several clinical trials, including POSNOC and LORIS. Teaching and training are his passions, and he has been a tutor and member of the School of Surgery in the Oxford deanery for many years. He is also a member of the RCSEng Professional Affairs Board, South Central. Dr. Ahmed has held various leadership roles, including Deputy Chair of one of the branches of practice at the British Medical Association and Chair of Strategy, Policy, and Procedure, where he actively engaged with several medical institutions in the UK.
